Would it be safe to say that this ad is ever better than the original? It may be exclusive to the web, but I think Cara is becoming one of my favourite advertising icons. This is an alternate version of Confused.com's celebration ad for its number of visitors, which is classified "Unplugged" because it does not involve a choir or fancy Flash animation. Instead, it's Hornet's rough drawings on apparently recycled paper without animation, and this is very clever; like a reminder that we need to save our energy. Louise Dearman sings more soothingly to a piano version of the second and last verses of Queen's Somebody to Love, and I must admit that it fits more in this ad. It works with a female more than it does for a male, since they can be more interested in love than guys (correct me if I'm wrong), and Christmas is one of the most important parts of religion. With Louise's beautiful voice and families holding hands around a large Christmas tree, ignore the fact that Cara's hair shows contrast towards the rest - there are no silly dancing Santas or annoying Can-Can dancers. It's the most touching ad you'll ever see this Christmas.
