This advert works to hook the audience in, with it's unusual, shocking image. Most advertising campaigns for car manufacturers use images to promote the product in a more positive way. However, what's striking about this advert is that at first glance, the product is portrayed in what one would think, is a negative way. This then prompts the audience to read the information at the bottom which offers to make sense of the ad, telling the audience about its ways to 'save the environment', which is complimented by the panda being protected by Fiat's airbag feature. This ad has responded to the recent issue and debate over Co2 emissions and global warming, therefore it will appeal to audiences who would like to reduce their carbon footprint. Therefore, this ad promotes fiat as an environmentally friendly brand. The ad also includes the typical codes and conventions expected from car adverts such as an image of the car, and the brand sign at the bottom of the screen.
