This new advert from Walkers shows a new way to market crisps, in a sexy way. It spoofs the 'food porn' technique employed my M&S, to follow the theme of classic British Walkers Crisps funny adverts. The advert makes you stop and stare with beautiful naked men and women, giving both sexes something to gaze at. The advert shows men and women in typical roles, with men doing manual labour, showing their muscles and women working in the garden out in the hot sun. Although there is nudity in the advert the use of black and white helps to still keep a class about it as I think that if in colour there would be too much detail on the people. The ending with Gary Lineker almost shocks the audience as I was not not expecting to see him naked, although when his muscles deflate it is in keeping with the humour used in other Walkers adverts. Also with the air canister saying air, it references the artist of the song being played, 'Sexy Boi' by Air. This song is cut when Gary's muscles are deflated to add further comic effect.
Walkers Baked is aimed at people who are health concious as they contain 70% less fat, however it maintains this on a less serious note, perhaps identifying with those who are not necessarily health-crazy, but who just like to keep an eye on what they're eating.
